GBUZ KK "Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka city geriatric hospital" (hereinafter referred to as geriatric hospital) was established in December 2002 on the basis of the Decree of the mayor of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky dated 08.10.2002 No. 906 by reorganizing the municipal medical institutions "City Hospital No. 4" and "City Hospital Clinic № 2".

         The Geriatric Hospital is the only such healthcare facility in the Far East. It is entered in the Federal Register “All-Russian Book of Honor”, ​​in the national register “Leading Institutions of Health Care in Russia”, and awarded with the “Order of Merit of the III degree” for its great contribution to maintaining health and mercy.

         The structural units of the institution are located in three buildings.

        1. The therapeutic building is a small-block three-story building with a total area of ​​2 679.8 m², built in 1984.

⁠The building has: an emergency room, a geriatric department, a nursing department No. 2, an X-ray room, rooms for functional diagnostics, physiotherapy, massage, a clinical laboratory, a centralized sterilization room, and a storage room for medicines.

        2. The building of the department of nursing care No. 1 is a small-block one-story building with a total area of ​​627.7 m², built in 1984. 

        The building has a Nursing Unit No. 1, utility and storage rooms.       

       3. Household building - a small-block one-story building with a total area of ​​313.1 m², built in 1984. In the building are located: a catering unit, laundry room, a room for a disinfection chamber, storage rooms for storing food.

         The geriatric hospital has a license of LO-41-01-000874 dated 12/20/2018 to carry out medical activities in the provision of primary, including pre-medical, medical and specialized, medical care:

        - when providing primary pre-medical health care on an outpatient basis for: laboratory diagnostics, physiotherapy exercises, medical massage, medical statistics, radiology, nursing, physiotherapy, functional diagnostics.

        - in the provision of specialized medical care in stationary conditions in: geriatrics, disinfectology, dietetics, laboratory diagnostics, physiotherapy exercises, physiotherapy exercises and sports medicine, medical massage, medical statistics, neurology, healthcare organization and public health, ophthalmology, radiology, therapy, nursing case, ultrasound diagnostics, physiotherapy, functional diagnostics.

        - in the provision of palliative care in stationary conditions in: geriatrics, dietetics, physiotherapy exercises, physiotherapy exercises and sports medicine, medical and social care, medical rehabilitation, neurology, healthcare organization and public health, psychotherapy, nursing, therapy, radiology, physiotherapy , surgery.

        - when conducting medical examinations on: examination of temporary disability, examination of the quality of medical care.

          Planned capacity: 115 beds

Geriatric department - 60 beds, of which 20 are geriatric, 20 are therapeutic, 20 are neurological;

           Department of Nursing Care No. 1 - 30 beds, of which 7 palliative beds + 23 beds of nursing care;

⁠           Department of Nursing Care No. 2 - 25 beds, of which 6 palliative beds + 19 beds of nursing care.

⁠⁠         The geriatric department is designed to provide planned geriatric, including neurological and therapeutic inpatient care, aftercare and medical rehabilitation after an intensive course of treatment in hospitals (departments) of a different profile of elderly citizens, disabled people, and persons with signs of premature aging organism.

         Tursing care departments are designed to provide palliative care and nursing care to patients mainly of the elderly and the elderly, disabled people, single citizens who need round-the-clock supportive treatment and nursing care.

⁠        Patients from other state budgetary healthcare institutions of the Kamchatka Territory are being transferred to the nursing care department to provide palliative care, single patients requiring round-the-clock supportive treatment and nursing care.

        For social reasons, hospitalization in the nursing department of persons with lost documents is allowed; persons of the category homeless; single elderly people in need of constant outside care; single citizens who find themselves in a difficult life situation.

⁠       When hospitalizing the above category of citizens, the institution’s social service restores lost documents, assists in the preparation of documents for receiving pensions and other payments, and in the design and transfer to boarding houses.
